Oil drilling grade Xanthan gum is an industrial grade high molecular weight polysaccharide biopolymer. It is used to thicken drilling fluids and completion fluid systems. It can be dissolved in various water-based muds including light cement slurry, sea cement slurry and high-salt mud system.

Notice: Xanthan gum quickly dissolves in water. But if pours too much gum in water, the outside will absorb water forming colloid thus preventing water into the inside. So mix the gum with other additives at the ratio of 1:10. The common dosage in oil drilling is 0.3-1.2%.
